Marble Pet Bowl

Cut from a single block of stone.

Nothing about it says pet bowl, which is the point. It can sit by the kitchen door and read as an object first — a low marble dish that happens to hold a dog's water.

Each one is turned from a single block of white marble. No seams, no joins, no liner. Grey-green veining through one, a thread of ochre through the next; no two are alike.

Weight is the feature

Marble at this thickness simply does not travel — a dog can lean into it and a cat can push at the rim; it stays where you put it. The sides are shallow and straight, so there is no deep well for a short muzzle to fight and no whisker fatigue for a cat.

Care

Honed smooth, with nothing for food to catch in. Marble is a soft stone: it takes on marks and looks better for them. Hand wash only, and keep it away from vinegar, citrus and acidic cleaners, which etch.

A set of self-adhesive non-slip pads is included. Most floors will not need them — the weight does the work — but they are there if you want them.
