Petit Lenormand Deck, after the 1875 B.P. Grimaud edition
A set of 36 large-format cards, printed on substantial 350 gsm coated stock, measuring 4.75 by 2.75 inches. This deck follows an earlier French Lenormand tradition and differs in subtle but meaningful ways from more familiar modern versions.
Many of the figures will feel recognizable, though others are more specific, drawn from social roles and archetypes. Each card represents a person one might encounter in life. The merchant, the widow, the brunette. A cast of characters rather than abstract symbols.
These cards were historically used in French salons, as a way of interpreting and navigating the layered, often political relationships of Parisian society. There is something distinctly human about them. Observational, a little intuitive, and rooted in social nuance.
The set includes a two-piece storage box and a translated guide with card names, meanings, and original reading instructions adapted from the period guidebook.
